Restaurant Monthly Sales Trend

Restaurant sales in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region wrapped up the year slightly below the annual trend at -1.94% this December vs last.  The annual trend of -1.53% shows the challenge restaurants – particularly in an environment of rising food and labor costs – are having maintaining same store sales as new restaurants have opened.  In 2018, only two months – March and June – showed an increase in sales while most months showed small decreases.
