June 2024's national restaurant sales data is here!

Full Service and Fast Casual ended the month +1% up from June 2023's numbers.

Zucchini topped our Movers list with a whopping 76% price increase across MarginEdge customers in June. This was likely due to USDA inspections being halted as a result of cartel violence in Mexico last month. Inspections have resumed, so we should expect prices to come down in the coming weeks. Fresh tomatoes topped our Droppers list, followed by red grapes and a few types of Romaine lettuce.

Broccoli (+20%) and avocados (+15%) also increased last month, but not enough to make our Movers list.

The average food category costs as a percentage of sales stayed the same for MarginEdge customers last month, with food costs averaging 28% of sales.

Regionally, the Midwest once again ended the month in the top spot with +5% growth for June.

We'll see you in August!
