Nothing spooky about these numbers - October 2024's national restaurant sales metrics are here!

Fast Casual had positive sales growth all month long this October, before ending at +1% growth, and Full Service also saw strong performance mid-month and over the Halloween week and weekends, ending at +3% up on a 7-day moving average.

Food costs averaged 29% of sales last month, reflecting a slight uptick from last month's average.

Whole turkey topped our Droppers list with prices -35% lower on average than in September. Honorable mention also goes to eggs, whose prices dropped -25% over the same period. Fresh mango topped the Movers list with a sour +61% average price increase, followed by Hake fillets, blood oranges and Roma tomatoes.

Regionally, October was a strong month across the country. The Midwest and Northeast both ended up on top again, at +6% and +7% growth on a 7-day moving average respectively.

November marks the start of the holiday season which is traditionally the busiest time of year for our industry, so we are very much looking forward to seeing this strong performance continue! See you in December.
