National restaurant sales metrics from September 2024 are in!Both Fast Casual and Full Service had positive sales growth for most of the month, before ending at -1% for Full Service and -2% for Fast Casual on a 7-day moving average.

Food costs averaged 28% of sales last month, reflecting a slight drop from last month's average.

Habanero peppers were dropping like they're hot (spoiler, they are!), making it to the top of our September Droppers list with an average price drop of 27%. Whole flounder (+53%) and blueberries (+48%) duked it out at the top of our Movers list. 

Regionally, the Midwest and Northeast both had strong months, ending at 3% and 4% growth respectively.
