Where hospitality met technology
Our story began where many restaurateurs have been themselves—stuck doing tedious work in a tiny closet behind the kitchen, wondering why the love of food and hospitality came with so many paper cuts. Bo and Roy, two of our founders with over 40 years of restaurant experience between them, assembled long-time friends and technologists, Mike and Sam. Together, they built a solution to make running a restaurant easier. And MarginEdge was born.
Built by restaurant people, for restaurant people.
For the first few years, they only invited a few industry friends to try the platform. They wanted to listen, iterate and ensure their solution was truly helpful. The early feedback was clear: MarginEdge is a game-changer for restaurant operators and accountants of all kinds. After a few more years, a few more employees and a whole lot more work, that early practice of listening to our clients has never stopped and continues to be our guiding light.
On a mission
Our dedication to service doesn’t just stop at the end of our work day. We give back to our communities both near and far, supporting and volunteering at local food banks in the D.C. area, and sponsoring children at an orphanage near our offshore team office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

While most days we’re a pretty casual bunch, we thankfully clean up pretty good when it comes time to recognize our community’s achievements.

So what’s next? Will we find a way to prevent steaks from being ordered well done ever again? Probably not, but we’ll continue to further transform the restaurants industry with cutting-edge technology. Great service, even more than great food, is what brings customers back time and time again. Our goal is to automate manual and gut instinct-based tasks, so operators have more time to do what they love and more of what makes them profitable.
